AUDI design week holds an exhibition, "new material, further design",which is based on innovation material involving several designers from diverse field . Material as an essential part of architectural design brings an architect with more possibilities and inspiration.
The exploration of the interrelation between the car brand‘Audi’and new material is the core issue in the design exhibition. The choice of new material is based mainly on research on comparison of future and past. There are two directions of the further and past involving a transfer of the vehicle shape and trade method.
On one hand, from the aspect of the vehicle shape changes, it is a transfer shape of an old Classic car designed with straight lines to Audi concept car made with curved lines.
On the other hand, it is a traditional and visible production method of the vehicle industry shifting to an invisible or transparent in the network field, which majored in network service like Uber App in the automotive industry from the aspect of the vehicle trade method. Overall, it is an old, straight line and invisible conceptual transferred to a new, curved and transparent manufacture and trade method. Stainless steel wire mesh is precisely what we were looking for the new material which the character is curves and transparency with a rarely used in architecture materials.
